Inner Pilgrim | Travel Guide to Your Soul

View Original

What if... you knew what to do?

When deep inside you know that it is time for a change,

but you’re not quite sure in which direction to go...

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make us into something else is the biggest accomplishment."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

When you dare to admit to yourself
That you can experience life
Satisfying, richer...
A more fulfilling experience of the world,
But you're at a loss at where to start...

That's where Inner Pilgrim comes in.

I believe this longing
For a more meaningful life
Brings us to investigate,
To find our way home.

I believe this longing
For a more meaningful life
Brings us to investigate,
To find our way home.

Coming home to ourselves.

But... for many of us,
Guilt kicks in:
"I should could my blessings,
Others have it so much worse,
Practice gratitude for what I've got..."

An inner voice crushing our dreams,
Criticising our heart's desire,
Ruining our confidence to proceed.

So we stay stuck.
Not truly happy where we are at
And not moving towards change.
Lost in no-mans land.

Would you regret it one day?
When illness strikes,
When death takes away a loved one,
When your own mortality hits you?

Why postpone happiness?
Why wait?

Give me one reason
That isn't based on fear.

Why let the fear win?
Why not follow the love?

Because it might not work out?
Gosh, who knows,
It might, it might not.
But at least
You will have learned só much.

And trust me,
There is never a 'good time'.
There will always be a valid reason
To not listen to your heart.

I am by no means implying
That embarking on a new path
With unknown territory
And utterly no guarantees
Isn't incredibly scary.

It is.
Scary a mean.
Very scary.

And impossible to understand
For many around you.

They might ask:
Why leave a well-paid job?
Why break up, she seems lovely?
Why say no to becoming a parent?
Why another child, when we are broke?
Why not go for that promotion?

It will seem like an act of senselessness
For those who do not understand.
Seen as foolish, or stupidity even
To those who do not feel the calling.

We can reassure them,
That we will not naively jump,
Without a plan.
We use our brains, and wisdom too.

But that calling  from our soul,
Our true nature
It's who we are meant to be,
Our gift to this world
And it's too important to ignore.

When you know that there is more to life, but you're not quite sure how to find it
Inner Pilgrim will show the way.

With love & courage, Karin
