What happens when we are showing up?

Commitment is a verb, not just a word.

Let me tell you about the
Incredibly powerful consequences
Of simply showing up.

Every week
Come rain or shine
My clients show up
For their session.

And so do I.

We show up.
In the space we create
By both being present,
Magic becomes possible.

In a good mood, or not.
Rested, or tired.
With deadlines, or an empty diary.
With something to talk about,
Or absolutely nothing to say:
My clients and I show up.

What happens
When you show up
Unconditionally?

Firstly, imagine
A child whose parent shows up
Sufficiently enough.

Secondly, imagine
A child whose parent
Doesn’t show up sufficiently enough,
Shows up unpredictably,
Or doesn’t show up at all…

What happens with the child?
Their self-esteem?
Their self -worth?

When we don’t show up
Something precious gets lost.
A little bit of trust erodes away,
With painful consequences…

Showing up,
Happy or down,
Exhausted or fit-as-a-fiddle,
The simple act of showing up
Builds trust.
Builds a belief of being lovable.

An argument in a relationship?
Show up.
A missed deadline at work?
Show up.
A mistake you made?
Show up.

By courageously showing up
The next step can become visible.
Don’t hide in work, booze or a phone.
Don’t disappear.
Be available. Turn up.
That in itself is such a powerful message.
By not leaving the playing-field
We create a space
Where solutions can be found.

There is commitment
In showing up.

We don’t need to show up perfectly.
We don’t need to show up
Knowing all the answers.
You might not even want to show up
And yet you do it anyway.
Because without showing up,
How can we find solace,
And breathe that much needed sigh of relief?

In the 'simple' act of showing up
Healing takes place.
Knowing someone cares enough
To be present,
Even when it’s hard.
There for you, unconditionally.

Showing up for yourself

When my clients show up
For their session
There is a powerful message
They gives to themselves.
A message that says,
Without spoken words:
"You are worthy to show up for"
"I care about you"
"I make space for you"
"I take you seriously"
"I prioritise you"
"I want to know what I can do,
To contribute to your happiness."

Showing up for yourself
Makes you feel loved by yourself.
Worthy of the time and space.
When we show up
For what matters to us
Miracles happen.

I show up for my clients.
And each newsletter and blog post,
I show up for you.
You might have never thought about it
In that way.
But I show up for you.
Each time I appear in your inbox.
Come rain or shine.
It’s a commitment I made
A gift I offer.
I show up.
For you.
Unconditionally.

Some of you reply
Some of you feel inspired
Some of you become clients
Some of you I’ll never meet.
I show up for all of you,
And share a little bit of me
Of my work, my thoughts,
My heart, my life.
May it be of benefit.

May by me showing up for you
The belief grow in you
That there is someone out there
Who cares.
