If you "resist" the spirit of India, you'll lose. Trust me :)
Let me tell you why. And you know what, it’s the best mind training.
People love India
Or hate it
For sure it is a great test
For our patience, flexibility
And peace of mind.
You'll understand what I mean
Once you've been here.
Let me give you
An idea of daily occurrences:
Q: Can I take a train now to this city?
A: Sure! [full of smiles]
Ah but not today.
Today no.
Tomorrow maybe, not sure.
Q: Directions to the shop please?
A: Yes, yes, left.
Maybe right
[full of smiles and head wobbles]
You try.
“India is a longing, a thirst to attain truth.”

Question: What time is the bus?
Answer person 1:
Yes, yes, bus.
Bus coming morning time
Answer person 2:
Wait here and it'll come
[flashing white teeth in stunning smile]
Answer person 3:
Maybe 11am,
Sometimes 12am,
Sometimes not coming.
You gotta love India
If you fight it
You'll lose :)
Best to surrender
And take life as it comes.
One day when I was in India
There was a full-day power cut.
No electricity.
I wanted to do so much work,
Even had a schedule planned
But when, much too soon,
The battery of my laptop
Ran out of juice,
No more work could be done.
I paid attention to my mind:
How attached was I,
To wanting things
To go "my way"?
Did my mind get upset?
Irritated?
Did I, internally,
Fight a useless battle?
Namaste
“My soul honours your soul. I honour the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honour the light, love, truth, beauty and peace within you, because it is also within in me. In sharing these things, we are united, we are the same, we are one”.

I decided to go for a walk.
Watched the river.
Saw an Indian couple take a bath
In the cold fast flowing water.
She was soaping his back
For many long lasting minutes.
I felt happy.
We all know
It's not the external circumstances
That are creating our frustration.
It's our reaction to it.
But honestly...
Please, please,
Practise now
With the little discomforts.
One day,
When a big one might hit,
Our mind is trained well
And it'll be a breeze.
With love,
Karin
